Mahmut Solaksubaşı

Tevfik Solaksubasi was born in Kumla, a small village in the famous olive-growing region of Gemlik.  He had olive groves, some acquired, some inherited, like many others in the region.  In 1950 he started olive oil production.  At that time production was made with the cold pressing method, with ancient stone presses.  The early production was solely for family consumption and a small amount of sale in the immediate area.

His daugher and two sons were then born. His daughter Melek married and moved to Istanbul, and his two suns, Mahmut and Ali, and his nephew Fikret continued the olive oil production with him. They started selling their product to the large national olive oil companies.  Capacity was not enough to meet the demand.  In time word of mouth started creating a different type of loyal client base, families who stopped to ask for their product on their way from Bursa to Istanbul.

Mahmut Bey finally decided to start selling their product under their own name and brand.  Why shouldn't they offer their product, natural and fresh, at its best, directly to their own consumers?  And they started selling a wide product portfolio made of the own-production olive oil, the olive prepared in different traditional methods, and other olive products.

Then grandchildren, who grew up with olives, also joined in, to work all together to reach more people with their olive products that they are proud of.

The work of a family for three generations, is now for you to enjoy.
